I am Greta is the first documentary film by Swedish director Nathan Grossman.
In August 2018, 15-year-old high school student Greta Thunberg embarks on a school strike in front of the Swedish parliament, asking adults a simple question: if you don’t care about my future on Earth, why should I care about my future at school?
At that moment, the filmmaker could not imagine the media coverage that her challenge would receive. In a few months, her strike becomes a worldwide movement and leads the teenager to the United Nations, where she bluntly challenges the international political world.
The documentary is a fascinating portrait of a teenager who became an icon and who questions our renunciations, our blindness and our future battles.
“Nathan Grossman offers a genuine, often genial, and more or less real-time portrayal of a very eventful year for a maverick combatant.” – Jan Lumholdt (Cineuropa)
